Start with your own circumstances: passport nationality and type, country of legal residence, travel purpose, dates, route and previous permissions. These guides are for short tourist trips; they do not determine your individual eligibility. Official authorities decide applications and admission. Travel World does not process visas.
London, New York, Dubai, Istanbul and Marrakech all make appealing trip ideas, but their application systems differ. Start with the relevant official checker rather than choosing a destination on the assumption that an e-Visa, visa waiver or visa on arrival will apply to everyone.
United Kingdom: visa or travel authorisation?
The GOV.UK checker identifies the route for your nationality and purpose. If you need a Standard Visitor visa, the application guide says you can apply up to three months before travel. A decision usually takes three weeks after application, identity confirmation and documents; this is not a guarantee. Check the live fee and any appointment costs before payment.
United States: check appointments early
Use the State Department’s visitor visa guide to understand the application route, including the online application and local embassy instructions. Some travellers may qualify for a different route; confirm rather than assuming. Interview availability and later processing are separate. The Department advises against final travel plans or ticket purchases before receiving a visa.
United Arab Emirates: check the responsible channel
The UAE government tourist-visa page describes channels including airlines, hotels and travel agents. Check whether you require advance permission or qualify for an alternative entry arrangement. Ask the authorised provider to state the government fee, service charge, validity and permitted stay separately. An ordinary hotel reservation is not itself a visa.
Türkiye: read the nationality conditions
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs nationality guidance is the starting point for Istanbul or Antalya. Exemptions, e-Visa eligibility and consular applications vary. If using the official e-Visa route, read all supporting conditions before paying; another country’s visa or residence permit does not automatically give every traveller eligibility.
Morocco: check eligibility through Accès Maroc
The official Accès Maroc portal has an entry-requirement checker. Use your nationality, passport type and residence details. If the online route does not apply, follow the responsible Moroccan consulate’s instructions. Keep the application category aligned with a tourist visit to Marrakech.
A realistic application calendar
Work backwards from departure: required permission, appointment availability, review time, passport return and booking deadlines. If an authority publishes an estimate, record when its clock begins. Add time for corrections instead of treating the shortest advertised service as a promise.
After approval, check the passport number, valid-from date, entry count and allowed stay. Keep the approval accessible during travel. Booking platforms help with accommodation; they do not decide visa eligibility or guarantee admission.
A handy preparation checklist
- Check passport validity and blank-page requirements for every destination and transit stop.
- Use the exact name, passport number and dates shown on your travel document.
- Prepare the authority’s checklist: this may include a photograph, itinerary, accommodation, funds, residence evidence and insurance.
- Keep readable scans, submission receipts and a copy of the final permission.
- Check whether you need an appointment, biometrics or a separate arrival declaration.
- Read cancellation conditions before making bookings for an application.
These are preparation prompts, not a universal document list. Follow the checklist issued by the embassy or authorised application channel for your situation. Never fabricate a reservation, employment letter or financial document. If information changes after submission, ask the authority how to correct it rather than filing an inconsistent second application.
Official sources & checking your own rules
